Overview
Gunzest is committed to delivering your firearms and related products with the utmost care, efficiency, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This shipping policy outlines the procedures, costs, timelines, and requirements for orders placed through our platform. All shipments are handled with strict adherence to federal, state, and local firearm laws, ensuring a secure and lawful process for every customer.
Shipping Eligibility
- Geographical Coverage: Gunzest ships to all states within the United States where the purchase, possession, and transfer of firearms are legally permitted. We do not ship to restricted jurisdictions, including but not limited to, certain cities or regions with specific firearm prohibitions (e.g., New York City, Chicago). Customers are responsible for verifying local regulations before placing an order.
- Product Restrictions: Firearms, ammunition, and certain accessories are subject to federal and state regulations. Handguns, rifles, and shotguns must be shipped to a licensed Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) for transfer. Ammunition and magazines may have additional restrictions based on state laws.
- Age Verification: All customers must be at least 21 years old to purchase handguns or handgun ammunition, and 18 years old for long guns and rifle ammunition, in accordance with federal law.
Shipping Methods and Costs
- Standard Shipping: Available for all eligible orders, with an estimated delivery time of 5-7 business days from the date of shipment. Standard shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on order weight and destination, starting at $15.00 for orders under $500.00. Orders exceeding $500.00 qualify for free standard shipping.
- Expedited Shipping: Offered for urgent needs, with delivery in 2-3 business days. Expedited shipping costs begin at $35.00, depending on the order size and location. This option is available for in-stock items only and must be selected at checkout.
- International Shipping: Gunzest does not currently offer direct international shipping. Customers outside the U.S. may arrange for a U.S.-based FFL or export agent to receive the shipment, subject to compliance with U.S. export regulations and the destination country’s laws. Additional fees and documentation will apply.
- Insurance: All shipments are insured against loss or damage, with coverage included in the shipping cost up to the order value. For high-value items exceeding $1,000, additional insurance is recommended and available for $5.00 per $1,000 of value.
Order Processing and Fulfillment
- Processing Time: Orders are processed within 1-2 business days after payment clearance and FFL verification. During high-demand periods (e.g., holidays), processing may extend to 3 business days.
- FFL Requirements: Customers must provide the name, address, and FFL number of their designated licensee at checkout. Gunzest will contact the FFL to confirm acceptance before shipping. Failure to provide valid FFL details will delay shipment.
- Tracking: Once shipped, customers receive a tracking number via email, allowing real-time monitoring through the carrier’s website. Tracking information is typically available within 24 hours of dispatch.
Delivery and Receipt
- Signature Required: All firearm shipments require an adult signature (21 or older) upon delivery to comply with ATF regulations. Packages will not be left unattended.
- Inspection: Upon receipt, customers or their FFL must inspect the package for damage before signing. Any visible damage must be reported to Gunzest and the carrier within 24 hours to initiate a claim.
- Transfer Process: The FFL will conduct a background check and complete the necessary paperwork (e.g., ATF Form 4473) before transferring the firearm. Customers are responsible for any FFL transfer fees, which typically range from $20.00 to $50.00.
Shipping Carriers
Gunzest partners with reputable carriers, including UPS and FedEx, to ensure secure and timely delivery. The choice of carrier is determined by order destination and availability, with priority given to carriers offering firearm-compliant services.
Restrictions and Prohibited Items
- Prohibited Shipments: Gunzest does not ship to P.O. boxes, APO/FPO addresses, or locations where firearms are banned. Certain high-capacity magazines and ammunition types may be restricted based on state laws (e.g., California, New York).
- Seasonal Delays: During peak shipping seasons (e.g., November-December), delays may occur due to carrier volume. Gunzest will notify customers of potential delays via email.
Returns and Refunds Related to Shipping
- Damaged or Lost Shipments: If a package is damaged or lost, customers must contact Gunzest within 24 hours with photos and tracking details. We will coordinate with the carrier for a replacement or refund, subject to insurance coverage.
- Change of Mind: Returns due to customer preference are not accepted for firearms due to legal restrictions. Ammunition and accessories may be returned within 14 days, provided they are unopened, with a 15% restocking fee and original shipping costs deducted.
