The Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm is a solid choice, and I’m giving it a 4.5-star rating because of its excellent ergonomics and reliable performance, grouping within 2 inches at 15 yards. The trigger is smooth, and the two magazines add versatility. However, I docked half a star due to the slightly stiff slide release, which takes extra effort to manipulate during rapid reloads.
