Colt has been dedicated to creating firearms that are ready to do anything you need at a moment’s notice. The FN15 is a classic example of the AR-15 platform. The heart of the rifle is built with a superb barrel that you can expect from Colt with some of the best in corrosion resistance and superb shooting potential. This particular model uses the classic mil-spec A2 front sight giving a solid aiming point. The rifle also comes with the classic Mil-Spec handguard with a heat shield inside to better protect the shooters hand. The receivers are made with 7075-T6 aluminum to give the most strength without adding excessive weight. The top of the receiver has a picatinny rail for adding optics and other accessories. So if you want that set the standard for a good all-around basic AR-15 Carbine look at the Colt M4.

The Mossberg Maverick 88 gets a 4.5-star rating for its reliable pump action and 20-yard patterns. The synthetic stock is durable. I subtracted half a star due to the basic sight.
